  Kyle shook his head. “Thank you. But unnecessary. Look.”

  She followed his finger and saw the cameras. The whole incident had been filmed. Her fight with herself—her victory.

  She looked at them both and smiled, holding out her wrists. As the cold cuffs clicked into place, Kate felt at peace for the first time in decades. Her adversary had not been who she had expected, but she had still won.
